Stainless steel pipe cap product design

Jul 06, 2026 Leave a message

The design of stainless steel pipe caps mainly includes convex caps, conical shells, reducing sections, flat caps, and constricting ends. Convex caps can be further divided into hemispherical caps, elliptical caps, dished caps, and spherical caps. From a stress perspective, hemispherical caps are the best among convex caps, with the others gradually decreasing in quality; however, from a manufacturing difficulty perspective, the manufacturing difficulty decreases accordingly. Common stainless steel materials include 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and 321. The nominal diameter ranges from DN15 to DN1200. Wall thicknesses cover SCH5 to SCH160. They comply with various standards such as ASME, DIN, JIS, and GB/T.

The progressive drawing die design overcomes the shortcomings of traditional methods through optimized analysis and calculation of the original forming process, part layout design, and die structure improvement. This rational die structure helps stabilize product quality, reduce labor intensity and production costs, and may improve die life and production efficiency.
