Description
The base head is formed first, then the finished curvature is measured before holes are cut or machined. Cone Tank Heads can be made from carbon steel, stainless steel, SA516 Gr70, or SA516 Gr60. Round holes, square openings, slots, and special profiles may be produced by CNC cutting, drilling, or machining. Each opening can include a bevel, reinforcement pad, neck, or identification mark. Completing this work on the formed surface helps the centerline and orientation follow the actual head geometry. Dimensional inspection and the specified examination are carried out after cutting or welding is finished. Each opening can be marked by tag number, helping installers match nozzles and instruments without rechecking every coordinate on site.

Main Applications
Heat exchangers with tube, vent, drain, or instrument connections.
Process vessels that carry several nozzles around a curved end.
Filter bodies, air tanks, and water-treatment units with grouped openings.
Replacement Cone Tank Heads that must reproduce an existing nozzle pattern and orientation.
Why Choose Us
Forming, CNC cutting, beveling, shaping, welding, material analysis, and non-destructive examination can be coordinated in one workshop. Opening tags can be checked against the nozzle schedule before packing, and orientation marks can be placed where they remain visible during site assembly. Loose reinforcement pads or welded assemblies are both available when the drawing allows them. For multi-head orders, separate packing marks reduce the chance of mixing similar parts with different hole patterns. A printed opening list can travel with each crate.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Are openings normally made before or after forming?
A: They are commonly completed after forming so the final curved-surface coordinates can be checked.
Q: Can reinforcement pads be supplied loose?
A: Yes. They may be shipped loose or welded, depending on the drawing, procedure, and inspection plan.
Q: What is needed to order Cone Tank Heads?
A: Send the base-head drawing, material, thickness, opening schedule, orientation drawing, bevel details, reinforcement, quantity, and examination requirements.
