Description
This form is used at the lower end of vertical tanks and containers where a broad base, drainage layout, or compact overall height is needed. Flat Bottom Tank Heads can be made from carbon steel, stainless steel, SA516 Gr70, or SA516 Gr60. Depending on diameter and thickness, production may involve pressing, spinning, or formed-and-welded construction. The flat area, transition radius, straight flange, and edge condition follow the tank arrangement. Drain openings, outlet necks, support pads, internal slopes, coating preparation, or surface finishing can be added once the formed dimensions have been checked. The flat face is protected during packing because dents there may affect support or drainage alignment.

Components
The central flat area forms the main bottom surface.
A rounded corner connects the center to the shell-side section.
The straight flange provides length for alignment and welding.
Drains, outlets, wear pads, and support interfaces may be included on Flat Bottom Tank Heads when detailed on the drawing.
