End caps are indispensable components in pressure vessels used in numerous industries, from petrochemicals and nuclear energy to food and pharmaceuticals, serving as a major pressure-bearing part.
In the early 1980s, my country's end cap manufacturing industry largely separated from the planned economy model. Despite the rudimentary manufacturing equipment at the time, the industry began to develop gradually. With the deepening of the reform and opening-up policy, by the early 1990s, my country's end cap manufacturing had largely achieved specialized production, with over two hundred professional end cap manufacturers.
The development of stainless steel end caps began in the early 20th century, when stainless steel began commercial production. In the 1950s, stainless steel end caps began mass production and were widely used in the petrochemical industry. With continuous improvements in manufacturing technology, the shapes and sizes of stainless steel end caps have become increasingly diverse, making them suitable for more fields.
In traditional boiler structures, end caps are an important component of the boiler shell. For example, in a vertical horizontal water tube boiler, the boiler shell is a cylindrical body with a convex or flat end cap; in a vertical multi-horizontal fire tube boiler, a hemispherical end cap is connected to the upper part of the boiler shell; in vertical curved water tube boilers and vertical straight water tube boilers, a convex end cap is also welded to the top of the boiler shell.
