Description
A continuous elliptical crown runs into the straight flange without a sharp geometric break, leaving a practical edge for the shell weld. elliptical vessel heads are available in carbon steel, stainless steel, SA516 Gr70, and SA516 Gr60. Forming can be carried out by hydraulic pressing or by cold and hot spinning, depending on diameter, plate thickness, and material condition. The head is then trimmed, rounded where needed, and prepared for fit-up. Bevels, nozzle holes, orientation marks, pickling, passivation, polishing, or coating preparation can be completed before the part is released for packing. Buyers often compare the tabled area and capacity before freezing shell length and internal lining quantities.

Components
The elliptical crown forms the main curved end surface.
The transition region carries the profile toward the shell-side section.
A straight flange provides alignment length for circumferential welding.
Optional nozzle openings, reinforcement pads, tags, and lifting features can be added to elliptical vessel heads from the approved equipment drawing.

Why Choose Us
Our team works with head geometry, forming, edge preparation, opening work, inspection, and export packing in one production route. Press capacities of 315T, 500T, 1000T, and 1200T cover many repeat sizes, while cold and hot spinning lines handle larger diameters and non-standard pieces. Dimensional checks, material identification, and non-destructive examination can be tied to the vessel tag. This is useful when several similar heads must arrive at site without mixing drawings or document packs.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can the head be matched to a measured shell circumference?
A: Yes. Actual shell dimensions can be used to coordinate the final fit-up size.
Q: Is an approved drawing needed for a standard diameter?
A: It is recommended because flange height, thickness basis, bevel, openings, and inspection scope may differ.
Q: What information is needed for elliptical vessel heads?
A: Provide material, diameter basis, nominal and minimum thickness, flange height, edge preparation, openings, quantity, standard, and records required.
