Hemispherical Tank Heads

Hemispherical Tank Heads use a half-sphere profile with greater depth than elliptical or torispherical ends.
The HHA table covers DN 300 to DN 6000, with total depth increasing from 175 mm to 3040 mm.

Description

The continuous spherical surface gives the vessel a deep end and a broad curved area, so equipment height, transport clearance, and lifting arrangements need early attention. Hemispherical Tank Heads can be produced in carbon steel, stainless steel, SA516 Gr70, or SA516 Gr60. Medium sizes may be pressed, while larger pieces can be spun or fabricated in sections under an agreed manufacturing plan. After forming, the edge is trimmed and prepared for the shell connection. Nozzle holes, reinforcement, orientation marks, surface treatment, and transport bracing may be added around the finished geometry. Because the profile is deep, the packing base is normally arranged to keep the head stable during lifting and inland transport.

Why Choose Us

The workshop combines large-tonnage pressing, cold and hot spinning, heavy lifting, heating, cutting, beveling, welding, and inspection resources. A seven-zone production layout keeps raw materials, forming, finishing, testing, storage, and shipping separated. Material identification and dimensional records can follow each equipment tag. This keeps similar-looking parts separated when one project contains several vessels with different thicknesses. For segmented heads, weld preparation and examination requirements can be incorporated into the production sequence, while export packing can be built around the diameter and center of gravity.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why does a hemispherical form need more transport planning?

A: Its depth increases overall height and can change the center of gravity, lifting points, and support-frame design.

Q: Can nozzle openings be completed before delivery?

A: Yes. Size, location, reinforcement, and examination requirements should be shown on the approved drawing.

Q: What is required to quote Hemispherical Tank Heads?

A: Send diameter basis, material, thickness, minimum formed thickness, edge detail, openings, quantity, standard, and inspection scope.
