Carbon Steel Dished Heads

Carbon steel dished heads combine a shallow THA profile with carbon-steel fabrication for tanks and low-to-moderate pressure equipment.
The THA range covers DN 300 to DN 6000, with total depth rising from 83 mm to 1203 mm.

Description

The head consists of a spherical crown, a knuckle transition, and a straight flange. carbon steel dished heads are commonly made from Q235B, Q245R, or Q345R, while SA516 Gr70 and SA516 Gr60 can be supplied for specified projects. Regular sizes may be pressed, and larger or uncommon diameters can be cold or hot spun. After forming, the edge is trimmed and the flange is corrected for shell alignment. Bevels, openings, orientation marks, blasting, grinding, or coating preparation may be completed before shipment. Material identification stays linked to the finished part and its certificate. Edge protection and transport supports are available when heads will be stored outdoors or moved before welding.

Why Choose Us

The factory combines 315T, 500T, 1000T, and 1200T presses with cold and hot spinning lines. Cutting, grinding, beveling, shaping, welding, dimensional inspection, material analysis, and non-destructive examination are available in the same facility. This allows the head, openings, marks, and document pack to be coordinated under one equipment tag. Export supports can also be built around the diameter and lifting direction, reducing extra preparation at the tank fabricator. Packing marks can follow the vessel tag and installation sequence.

Where outdoor storage is planned, the prepared edge can be covered while leaving the equipment mark visible.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Which carbon-steel grade should be selected?

A: The vessel designer should consider the design code, temperature, pressure, toughness, welding, and corrosion conditions.

Q: Can corrosion allowance be included?

A: Yes. Starting thickness should account for the required minimum formed thickness and the specified allowance.

Q: What information is needed for carbon steel dished heads?

A: Send the grade, diameter basis, nominal and minimum thickness, flange height, bevel, openings, quantity, standard, and inspection requirements.
