Description
The cap has a semi-ellipsoidal crown and a cylindrical weld edge. ASME caps can be made from carbon steel, stainless steel, SA516 Gr70, SA516 Gr60, or another specified piping material. Smaller sizes are generally pressed, while larger dimensions may be spun or produced through combined forming. The outside diameter at the bevel, length E, limiting wall thickness, and alternate length E1 follow the selected size row. After forming, the edge is trimmed and prepared for welding. Material marking, surface treatment, dimensional inspection, project identification, and export packing can be included before the pieces enter finished storage.
