Stainless steel end caps are products used to seal stainless steel pipes. They are components used after the pipe ends or as end caps for containers, and are widely used in storage tanks, heat exchangers, towers, reactors, boilers, and separation equipment.
Based on their geometric shapes, stainless steel end caps can be divided into several types, including spherical, elliptical, dished, spherical crown, conical, and flat caps. Spherical, elliptical, dished, and spherical crown end caps are collectively referred to as convex end caps. Elliptical end caps consist of a semi-elliptical spherical surface and a cylindrical straight edge section. They combine the advantages of good stress distribution of hemispherical end caps and shallow depth of dished end caps, resulting in a more uniform stress distribution, making them suitable for medium and low-pressure containers. Their mechanical properties are second only to hemispherical end caps, making them one of the most widely used types. Disheveled end caps, also known as folded-edge spherical end caps, consist of a spherical surface, a cylindrical straight edge, and a transition section. Elliptical end caps offer better stress distribution than dished end caps, are deeper for the same diameter, but are slightly more difficult and costly to manufacture.
Stainless steel heads, due to their excellent corrosion resistance, good high and low temperature resistance, and high mechanical strength, have become key pressure-bearing and sealing components in pressure vessels and pipeline systems in industries such as petroleum, chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and machinery.
